Bristol launches new 650cc Bobber, starts at PhP398K

Bristol Motorcycles, the brand behind the Classic 400i, Veloce 500 scrambler and Venturi 500 adventure bike, recently unveiled the latest member of its growing motorcycle portfolio: the Bobber 650.

Launched practically on Saturday February 6, 2021, the new Bobber 650 will be available at the introductory price of 398,000 PhP and comes with a free Easytrip RFID. Better yet, Bristol will also be offering another 20,000 PhP discount for cash buyers until the end of this month.

Bobber 650

A “bobber” cruiser, in its purest sense, is a custom type of motorcycle that is stripped of excess bodywork and unnecessary accessories. This style first appeared in the 1920s, but has grown in popularity in recent years due to its minimalist approach.

For the Bristol Bobber 650, the same minimalist aesthetic is applied. It comes with clipped fenders and a “spring-inspired” seat. The Bobber 650 is also offered with a two-seater option.

At the heart of the Bobber 650 is a 649cc parallel twin engine that produces approximately 71hp of power at 8,500rpm with 62Nm of torque at 7,000rpm. It also has a 6-speed gearbox, with chain as the final drive.

For suspension, the Bobber 650 rides on a KYB telescopic fork, while the rear has dual-spring shocks. Perhaps, what caught our attention was the Bobber 650’s large 345-millimeter disc for the front, which is usually reserved for high-performance motorcycles. The rear also receives a large 280-millimeter disc. The front and rear brakes are fitted with ABS for added safety.

Fuel capacity is 14.5 liters, with a claimed range of around 232 kilometers on a single charge.
