Pipedream launches the new Sirius RIB
Pipedream announced today that the Sirius RIB is now in stock and ready for the trails.
The Sirius is a short-haul steel hardtail that’s ready to crank up the bulk on local trails. It is designed to allow riders to sharpen and press hard on the pedals. The bike is optimized for a 120mm fork with a 65 degree head tube angle. It can accommodate a fork from 100 to 130 mm and is designed for long kilometers and difficult terrain. It is manufactured to Pipedream’s high standards and represents their ultimate semi-rigid steel performance.
Local loops, trail centers, and epic XC adventures, the Sirius is a blank canvas ready to be built however you see fit. With more and more riders venturing out from their front door to ride the trails in times of lockdown, the Sirius, with Pipedream geometry, can be the short, rowdy, hardtail travel companion of a cyclist to lead them through the winter with a smile.
Pipedream’s DOG or, Drop Optimized Geometry, is their philosophy for designing bikes. Pipedream claims that when the going gets tough, their bikes will keep riders on track due to their long, low, and loose geometry that they’ve been using for quite some time now. There is a 65 degree head angle, 77.5 degree seat angle, and 465mm reach in a long size.
A custom set of tubes are used to build the Sirius. The tube is designed specifically for the frame so that custom butt profiles are optimized for strength and performance, eliminating the need for external reinforcement, according to Pipedream. This provides the clean aesthetic for which Pipedream is known and improves the properties of the gusseted tube.
There is also a rigid fork on the way, specially designed for the Sirius to make it the ultimate bike for bikepacking and adventure. There are also flat mount dropouts coming soon so riders can install hanger bars if they want.
The bike is available in three sizes – longish, long and longer. The available colors are Silver Fox, Starry Night and Vintage Green.
The Sirius sells for £ 649.00 and more information can be found at pipedreamcycles.com
