Unveiling of the Harley Davidson Sportster S

Harley Davidson has just unveiled its newest extension to its sports motorcycle line – the Sportster S. Built on the Revolution Max platform, this new motorcycle takes the performance of the Sportster line to new heights while paying homage to the legendary motorcycle. .

Starting with the power, this Sportster S puts out 121 horsepower and plenty of low-end torque thanks to its 1250T V-Twin engine. The power-to-weight ratio is also optimized as the bike itself weighs only 228 kg with a full tank (11.8 litres) of petrol. Securing all that power is a rigid frame with a welded tubular steel trellis swingarm and stamped X-member. While great on the straights, the bike can also handle corners as it comes equipped with a fully adjustable 43mm SHOWA inverted cartridge fork and SHOWA Piggyback reservoir rear shock. Stopping the bike is a Brembo four-piston front caliper with a 320mm disc and a two-piston rear matched with a 260mm disc.

There are brains to match the brawn in this package too as the Sportster S has a number of innovations to help you with your ride. Technologies such as USB-C ports, heated grips, cruise control, pre-programmed riding modes (Sport, Road and Rain), 4.0-inch circular TFT screen, LED lighting and brake levers and adjustable clutch.

“The Sportster S is the next all-new motorcycle built on the Revolution Max platform and sets a new performance standard for the Sportster lineup,” said Harley-Davidson President and CEO Jochen Zeitz. “This is a next-generation Sportster defined by power, performance, technology and style. And it’s part of our commitment to introducing motorcycles that align with our strategy to increase desirability and carry on Harley-Davidson’s heritage.

Available in Vivid Black, Stone Washed White Pearl or Midnight Crimson, the new Harley Davidson Sportster S will be available this fall starting at US$17,999.
